And Baby#3....

is another boy! As my best friend told me today, you are going to be a mama surrounded by a bunch of men.

BabyBoy looks healthy--he has all 4 chambers in his heart, his kidneys look good, his neural tube is closed, 2 arms, 2 legs, 10 fingers, 10 toes. We saw him suck his thumb and rub his hand across his face.

You might be wondering how I am feeling about having another boy. Well, we were really sure it was a girl and I really was wanting to be a mama to a baby girl. Maybe sometime in the future. I am totally happy that God has blessed us with another boy. Having boys is great--there is something special about a son and his mama. I love playing with rocks, sticks, bugs, checking out bulldozers and all the other "boy stuff" that comes with having boys.

The real stickler is coming up with a name! We had a hard time with the boys and we already had a girl name picked out. I am open to suggestions...We had thought about Carr as a choice....get it Carr Parker? Car Parker? Hahahaha....

Here are some pictures...

So you are looking at the baby's butt and the little "turtle head" sticking out in the middle is the baby's penis. Cute huh?

Here is the profile shot of the baby. His hand is up near his face and his legs are up in the air. That is our little guy!

awesome pics =). ultrasound pics are really amazing.

congratulations on having a baby boy! what a praise! you must be doing such a great job in raising boys that God has blessed you with another. they will get to play together and be close when they grow older.

hmm...names... that IS tough! do you want a Bible name or it doesn't matter?

oh ya - praise God for a healthy boy so far.

i've been worried about caleb's nevus sebaceous (his birthmark on his scalp) recently. we'll have to get it removed later on but i'm wondering if we should do it sooner than later since it is growing (as his head gets bigger). please pray for us.

I was wondering if you were going to find out. Congratulations! How exciting...your boys are going to get along great. Its going to be great to watch them grow up together! Jason is one of three boys and they like it that way!

We do have some criteria for naming the baby. It can't have an "er" sound at the end of the name (ie. Taylor) because the "er" name and Park"er" sound funny.
It can't start with a P because we don't want the initials to be PP. Sounds too much like PeePee. We won't pick a name that has also been converted to a girls name (ie Taylor).
It doesn't matter if it is a name from the Bible, but the meaning is very, very important to us. I don't want a name that means darkness for example. Perhaps we make it harder for ourselves because of all the criteria but we found a name for both boys following the same criteria.
Now, if we can just agree on a name then we will be good. I have several that I am favorable to that Jon doesn't like. Jon's way of brainstorming names is to say ANYTHING that comes to his mind--like Horace, Sillyhead, or Frankfurter. Occasionally something good will come out of all the goofiness.

Jon's method of picking out names for the baby is funny I laughed at the thought of a grandson named "Frankfurter."

Little boys are sooo nice, they are funny, sweet and very protective of mama, little girls are really sugar and spice ,I am so glad that I got to have my woderfull dauhter ,who turned out to be your sweet an wonderfull mom. Names usually fit the person--I can't even imagine calling Ewan and Issac any thing else --- I suppose Frankfurter is ok, better than weenie. Whatever you decide will fit perfect---- love you lots and lots ,gramma

Yeah, that's exactly how Dan picks names! I'll be praying for you guys to find a name that is really special like Ewan and Isaac's names are.
I am so happy for you guys to have another boy! Boys are definately great... thank God that he is healthy too! What a blessing.

sean timothy?
joshua elijah?
stephen alexander?

just some ideas... : )

when are you guys moving again?

amelia said...

We are moving June 5, 6, or 7th. 2 months from now!

I like the name Sean but Jon vetoed it--I think it reminds him of someone. Jon's sister-in-law thinks we should name the baby Alexander too--it is Jon's brother's name. I am pretty much a fan of "J" names though. I'll pass on the suggestions to the sillyhead namer. :)

hi amelia! i'm excited that baby boy 3 is healthy. i started reading through your blog (didn't know you kept one) and feel like i've gotten to catch up on your life! hope to see you at least for a little while at rec week this summer.

love.

Hey K8T!

Glad you found the blog! Hanging at recweek is still up in the air--although if we do go seeing you will definitely be one of the highlights :).

Congrats on another boy!

No word on ours yet -- I think I'm about 3 weeks behind you, so hopefully at the next visit we will find out the sex. Duane wants to name our baby Constantine if it's a boy, but I quickly vetoed that one ;-)

It's fun our kids are all going to be roughly the same age, since Julian is between Isaac and Ewan and these will be pretty close too. Can't wait to get our kids together when we're on home assignment next year. We'll probably be in the PA area since so many of our friends will be there too.

Congratulations on your boy!

Picking a name is so difficult. I can't imagine having to pick out a third boys name. You did great with the first two.

I have been stressing about our names, especially now that it is getting down to the wire. Our criteria is very similar, except for the "er" and "PP" part. :o) Good luck picking one!

007? Bono? Seth? Obama? William, and Liam for short? (hey, i actually like that one)...
Frankie Parker wouldn't be so bad if you go for Frankfurter. It has some nice alliteration.

Will you be in Pittsburgh or Philly? It's a short train ride from Philly to NYC!! (which is about half-way to Boston...maybe the Hankes & Parkers could meet in Harlem?) Looks like i'm here for a while.

hm. actually, that's assonance, i think. not alliteration ;)
